Free Seminar and CE Credit Opportunity

What really happens when domestic and/or sexual abuse is reported in East Texas? What is the process, what organizations are in place to help - and how?

In this half-day seminar, we'll be connecting the public - as well as survivors of physical and sexual violence - with local experts in trauma, law enforcement, legal, crisis services, and social work. You'll walk away with a clearer understanding of resources available in East Texas, a comprehension of how agencies coordinate and work together, and knowledge about how survivors can benefit from the services provided.

The keynote address will be delivered by Jillian "JJ" Simmons - survivor, TV personality, author, and founder of the "I'm Me Foundation" and "Respect My Crown."

Sessions will include presentations from Lone Star Legal Aide, the East Texas Crisis Center, and the UT Tyler Social Work Department.

The seminar is FREE and open to the public. We welcome survivors, family, and friends. Professionals who provide direct therapeutic services, those involved with advocacy (macro or policy-related), and professionals who work for Child Protective Services and case management are especially encouraged to join us.
